FAQ
Why do characters and bytes differ?
Characters are visible glyphs; bytes are storage size. For example, one Hangul character typically takes 3 bytes in UTF‑8.
How are words counted?
We split on whitespace (spaces/newlines) and ignore empty tokens. For Korean, word counts may not always reflect meaning due to spacing conventions.
How are sentences/paragraphs estimated?
Sentences are approximated by punctuation (. ! ? and their CJK counterparts). Paragraphs are separated by blank lines (two or more newlines).
Is my text uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
